ADVENTURES ON LAND AND UNDER THE SEA
Tales of a travelling mermaid …
Join me on my adventures as I travel - inexpertly and with far too much rammed into my case - to where the sea is warm and the water is (hopefully!) clear. I hope to explore some of the cultures and lands that I am lucky enough to visit, scuba dive my way around the other world under the sea and ensure I get plenty of stops for delicious cups of tea along the way!

2. The different types of people you find on a dive boat..
There isn’t really all that much to tell about this week. Every day follows the same routine: 6.00: wake up & first breakfast 6.30: dive brief, gear up & dive 1 8.00: second breakfast 10.00: dive brief, gear up & dive 2 12.15: lunch 2.00: dive brief, gear up & dive 3 4:00: ‘snack’ (really more of a second lunch - it’s usually pizza, a range of meat and bread or one day, burgers and chips!) 5.30: night dive brief, gear up & dive 4 7.15: dinner …. Most of us in bed asleep by 9/

1. Egypt: child care, taxi negotiations & the ocean’s finest!
My first experience of Luton airport was quite favourable - cheaper parking than Gatwick and also the ‘new’ rule where you don’t have to get your liquids or anything out of your bag anymore. Seems to just be Heathrow we haven’t modernised to that system yet! After a deliciously overpriced airport breakfast, I persuaded the waitress to fill my flask with boiling water, despite her confusion at the request and of course then set about adding my own teabag and milk sachet. Much

2. Like Tenerife, but much yellower!
The second half of our holiday has been filled with attempts as sightseeing, much resting on the beach and plenty more eating! On Tuesday, we decided to go and see some of the island’s sights and headed off in the snazzy car for a drive through Fuerteventura’s top attraction - Dumas de Corralejo sand dunes national park. To be fair, it is quite an amazing landscape and very cool with 26km sq of yellow sand dunes that meet the beach and have a little road running through. We w

1. Fuerteventura: the sisters’ edition.
A closed motorway or two and a particularly long and winding country road, the odd down pour and a rainbow finally got us to Gatwick. After a delicious dinner, we retired to our bedroom early ready for a very early start on Saturday. Sam seemed to forget the ‘no tv on holiday’ rules but it was ok because we were still in England. Not only did we manage to avoid an inflight tea crisis, I even discovered while enjoying our airport ‘Spoons breakfast that they have upgraded from
